Selenium IDE

 Selenium IDE also abbreviated as SIDE is a Mozilla Firefox plugin that is used to automate web applications. The plugin can be downloaded from the official Selenium download portal i.e http://docs.seleniumhq.org/download/. 

   Selenuim IDE encompasses  a combination of several commands which we also call as Selenese commands that work together in automating one entire test case or test suite. Their are several components within Selenium IDE as the below image itself signifies

  

Selenium IDE UI

The UI of Selenium IDE has following vital components:

• BaseURL 
• Speed Bar
• Test Case Window
• Command Window
• Log, Reference Pane 

Base URL: The base URL is an text field wherein you enter the URL of the web application you want to test. For ex: www.gmail.com/www.facebook.com.
